But first, what IS a ‘superfood’?
Superfoods refer to foods that have beneficial medicinal/preventative properties apart from their base nutrition value. The most well-known superfood is probably yoghurt; consumed for centuries by several cultures worldwide, the full benefits of yoghurt’s ‘good bacteria’ only came to be understood around 1890 with research by Dr Ernst Moro.
