It’s been many months since Crane organised our last writer’s event (Geekology in March 2021). We’ve missed hosting great writers like Wesley Leon Aroozoo, Pallavi Gopinath Aney and Wayne Ree. Book-related events have also been thin on the ground in the wake of the Heightened Alert. Crane was very proud to host the launch of Mahita Vas’ book, A Good Day to Die, as well as poet Stephanie Chan for her video launch of Roadkill for Beginners.
Now...what’s next?
Crane has a whole lineup of stories ready to go! We’ll be hosting the launch of The Formidable Miss Cassidy, by Meihan Boey (you’ll have seen her around as Crane’s Community Manager), co-winner of the Epigram Books Fiction Prize this year.
We’ll also be working with the Association of Comic Artists Singapore to bring back their amazing mini-con, featuring workshops with local comic book artists and creators, such as Boon Lai and Jerry Hinds; as well as a cast of colourful characters, from cosplayers to professional wrestlers!
We’ll also welcome back game-master Ram, and dungeon-master Bruce, as they host role playing and grown-up board games so elaborate, they take a whole day to battle through!
Look out for more exciting collaborations with local writers, publishers, artists and more! From the bottom of our hearts, it feels good to be back.
