Women juggle many hats, just like Crane member Letchmy Ganapathy. An executive by day, she is a self-taught artist who is slowly building a following for her beautiful pieces celebrating women.
We’ll let Letchmy introduce herself!

I am an accidental artist; I explored painting as a hobby, which evolved into my passion! Painting since 2012, my works reflect my very beliefs - spirituality, feminism, love, hope and nature. As a self-taught artist, I have no rules to observe and I revel in the freedom I feel when creating. I use Acrylic and Oil mostly and play with the colors that call out to me.
Women and Ganesha are my initial expressions on canvas and they are developing naturally into themes.
My ‘Musical Ganesha’ Series is inspired by my childhood adulation for the Hindu God; he removes obstacles! I love to paint temple ruins, rustic bells and antique doors from my collection of travel photos.
The 'Celebrating Women' Series is very close to my heart and will continue to be for it is my story. I know it represents the countless women who continue to rise up despite the odds faced at many levels. My first painting in this series was called the 'Evolving Mother' - I painted it during the time I was questioning my very own qualities or the lack of raising a child. The last woman, ‘The Awakened Damsel’, is the progressive woman who has a vision - her opened eyes look afar, representing hope and countless opportunities.
I love nature and exploring it on treks while traveling. I hope many of my travel photos will soon be impressions on my canvas. As a Singaporean, I do my bit through art: Participating in charitable events and donating a portion of my sales proceeds from my works to chosen charities.
