Are you or your kids a “Third Culture Kid?
Have you grown up in a culture different to your parents'? How about your children?
Are you (or have you been) living, studying, or working abroad?
Join us in this fun and explorative talk to learn about what it actually means to be a “Third Culture Kid”.
Singapore is a great example of a very rich social interaction where cross-cultural individuals - professionals, families, kids - come together and learn from each other.
When living and working a significant amount of years outside of your country of origin, a unique "third culture" is created.
Join the conversation on what it means to grow up in a culture different to your parents', to live and work with different cultures, and/or to live in different places across the globe.
During this talk, we will explore:
- The definition of “home”
- Home and relationships
- Rootlessness and restlessness - always ready to move
- The role of deep connections and valued relationships
- The impact of the “culture shock”, and
- The benefits of interacting with many cultures!
Our collective shared experiences are unique and they are an opportunity to share to the world.
Our ability to adapt to different environments empowers us to see life as opportunities, not challenges.
