Running from June to September 2022, each session of the Film Appreciation Club features a film screening and a discussion.
The Film Appreciation Club is designed to expand outreach and continue nurturing appreciation of the film medium among film lovers and enthusiasts. Especially curated by a specialised programming team, each session will take place in a different lifestyle venue and will include a light meal.
The Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) is the largest and longest-running film event in Singapore.
Over the decades, it has grown to become an iconic date in the Singapore arts calendar. With its focus on groundbreaking Asian cinema, this prestigious event is known for its dynamic programming and commitment to the development of a vibrant local film culture.
The festivities bring to this city a vibrant film experience and a deeper appreciation of its cinematic culture. SGIFF aims to open new perspectives and make new connections. Audiences will enjoy many activities including film screenings, master classes, fringe events, industry discussions and awards ceremonies.

Participants are required to be at least 18 years of age due to the film rating for the May sessions.

Join in a secret Saturday soiree with the SGIFF Film Club.
The SGIFF Film Club presents a mystery film. Challenging the notion of judging a book by its cover, the mystery film aims to surprise audiences, taking them on a journey to explore an even wider variety of films. Each mystery film is specially curated for the month.
Against a sea of fate, with little foreknowledge, a man sets off on a journey through multiple lifetimes. This month, our mystery film reassesses traditional filmmaking styles, distilling it down to the mystery of collaboration. Piecing together different narratives, the audience is invited to adventure into a fortunate game of Clue.

The SGIFF Film Club presents Unlucky Plaza, a 2014 multi-character thriller film that was the Opening film for the 25th Singapore International Film Festival - a first for a Singaporean film.

SGIFF Film Club is an initiative by the Singapore International Film Festival to offer an intimate and welcoming space for conversations about cinema for the casual cinema-goer to the film enthusiast.
Each session showcases a screening of rarely available independent films and encourages participatory discussions facilitated by the SGIFF team. Through these programmes, SGIFF hopes to develop fun and informed ways to engage with our audiences, evoke new curiosities and nurture a deeper appreciation of film in Singapore.
SGIFF Film Club will run from May 2022. Each session runs for 2.5 hours and participants will be entitled to a meal and beverage at every session to complement their cinematic experience.
